Co-produced with Inclusion in Practice, this new paper explores how Marine Primary are creating inclusive classrooms through consistent pedagogical approaches embedded through high quality professional development.

In 2024, the Department for Education appointed an Expert Advisory Group (EAG), chaired by Tom Rees, into Inclusion. As part of the EAG's work, and in partnership with the Confederation of School Trusts and Ambition Institute, Inclusion in Practice was launched - a sector-led project designed to capture examples and deepen our understanding of what successful inclusion looks like.

We were delighted that Marine Academy Primary, part of The Ted Wragg Multi-Academy Trust, were selected by Inclusion in Practice as an exemplar of best practice for the work they do to develop consistent and inclusive classrooms through high quality professional development for all their staff.

This paper explores an emerging insight from the Inclusion in Practice call for evidence: that inclusion starts with expert teaching - embedded consistently through evidence-informed professional development - to help more learners thrive in the classroom.
