- However, much of the PD in which teachers have participated up until recently likely had no effect.
- School leaders therefore need to carefully allocate their PD budgets to ensure that PD results in improved teaching and learning.
- Instructional coaching is one effective form of PD.
- PD incorporating mechanisms from the EEF review of effective PD is more likely to be effective. For example, augmenting PD with modelling is likely to improve its impact.
