PD Specialist — Steplab
Visiting a Steplab Hub School is one of the best things PD leads can do to kickstart or reignite their PD programmes. Our community of schools is growing, with Hub Schools now across the UK, Australia and the UAE.
Educators from across the UK and internationally are visiting Steplab Hub Schools to see professional development in action.
“Absolutely brilliant. I am going back to Australia with real clarity - the format of the day was invaluable. It was the best day I’ve had in my sabbatical school visit tours in the UK.”
- Trudi Edwards, Matthew Flinders Anglican College, (Australia)
What are Steplab Hub Schools?
Steplab Hub Schools are schools using Steplab to power high-quality professional development, coaching and deliberate practice.
They have developed strong approaches to implementation, culture-building and teacher PD - and are opening their doors to share this work with other schools.
Each Hub School offers a different context and approach, but all are focused on the same goal: improving teaching through structured, evidence-informed PD.

Why visit a Hub School?
A Hub School visit gives you the opportunity to see professional development in action and understand how it works in a real school context.
You will:
• See how their PD is structured and delivered
• Explore how coaching and deliberate practice support teacher development
• Understand how their PD model aligns with teaching priorities
• Learn from real implementation challenges and solutions
• Connect with other school leaders and share ideas
“The opportunity to visit Lynn Grove Academy was invaluable. I have left with a sense of excitement about what the future holds for my school.”
- Sarah Morgan, Wymondham College
What to expect on the day
Steplab Hub open days are designed to be practical, focused and collaborative.
During the day, you may:
• Observe professional development sessions, rehearsal or coaching
• Visit classrooms to see practice in action
• Hear from school leaders and teachers about their approach
• Take part in discussions with other visiting schools
• Reflect on how this could apply in your own context
“I saw a room full of teachers talking together about how their next lesson could be just a bit better. I have never seen anything like it.”
